“Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it’s at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.”
Audrey Hepburn
What a lady, stunning in every way. There’s a quiet wisdom in this reminder, down to earth, compassionate and a moral spiritual compass. She speaks not only of kindness but of balance. Before we can extend care outward, we must first learn to hold ourselves with the same love.
Begin with self-knowledge, the recognition that we are responsible for our own healing and our own wellbeing. It’s our own hand which steadies us when life shakes our foundations, that pushes us back up and encourages us to rise again. To help ourselves is not selfish, it’s the foundation from which all authentic compassion flows.
The next is to reach out to the people and communities around us. It’s the gesture of connection, empathy and becoming a being of service. We come to realise it’s our natural state, to give and receive love freely. When we are anchored in our own awareness, helping others becomes effortless and an extension of the same love that sustains us.
Between these two hands lies the meeting point of self and other, the place where duality dissolves. We begin to see that the one we help and the one who helps are not separate. Both hands belong to the same body, both movements arise from the same heart.
To live this way is to embody balance and to tend our uniqueness and to share its warmth. Helping yourself teaches you about the presence of you. Helping others allows you to hold space for the presence of others.
What is Active Relaxation?
Put simply, its the personal alignment and feeling of you. Its a space where you feel relaxed and yourself, you are actively aware of the world around you and energies of the unseen world.
A major part of the aftercare and integration space is the ‘Active Relaxation’ track. Its not a meditation but a space of active relaxation where people can come together and listen in their own time. Actively working together on their own personal alignment and building a frequency for others to join by stepping into their own alignment and authenticity.
